HYPNOS III datalogger

The current version of the HYPNOS redox datalogger is described in Vorenhout et al. (2011). It is available through MVH Consult, the Netherlands.

Some features:

• 48 Redox channels (> 1TOhm impedance)
• 50 digital temperature channels
• Continuous measurement: intervals from 1 min up in logical steps
• Data storage on SD cards
• Number of datapoints limited to the  filesystem (512 files of 128 Kb, millions of single data entries)
• No need for notebook in field: data is read in the lab or car
• Safe watertight construction: it can even be stored burried in soil (IP65+)
• New: RS232 output with raw data
• New: backup of (temperature) settings: transfer settings to new logger
• New: strongly improved user menu.

The HYPNOS III is the successor of the HYPNOS II, that was described in the article by Vorenhout et al. Its applicability is very wide. The redox potential is essential to degradation processes in environmental research, geochemistry, natural remediation, in situ preservation of archaeological remains, ecological research and many more fields.
